Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I'm colorblind?
Common signs include difficulty distinguishing between red and green, confusing colors in traffic lights, struggling with color-coded charts or maps, and problems with certain video games or apps. The only definitive way to know is through professional testing. We offer free screenings - book an appointment today.
Is color blindness curable?
Currently, there is no cure for inherited color vision deficiency. However, you can learn strategies to adapt and thrive. Special glasses may help some people, though they don't "cure" colorblindness. Our counselors can help you develop effective coping mechanisms.
Can I drive if I'm colorblind?
Yes! Most people with color vision deficiency can drive safely. Traffic lights are positioned consistently (red on top, green on bottom), and you learn to recognize them by position and brightness. We offer specific training for new drivers with CVD.
What careers are closed to colorblind people?
Very few! While some positions (pilot, electrician) have restrictions, most careers are fully accessible. We've helped colorblind individuals succeed as doctors, teachers, engineers, designers, and more. Our career counselors can help you navigate any challenges and find accommodating employers.
How can I help my colorblind child at school?
First, inform teachers and request accommodations like non-color-dependent materials, labeled crayons, and seating where they can see the board clearly. We provide free educational support packages for schools and can meet with teachers to explain your child's needs.
